The Right Way (& The Wrong Way)

The French tend to have the right way to do things, and everything else is the wrong way. Today I had to take a “velo practical” to prove that I could ride a bike and supervise small children at le même temps.

As part of an obstacle course, I had to pluck this ball off the gate with my right hand, transfer it to my left hand, and then drop it in a bucket. Because that totally would happen on a field trip.

Then all 46 of us had to ride 4K in a specific formation on the street, to protect the children. Which really no one did, and then we were chastised by the leader, who was riding a BMW touring motorcycle. Even the French parents saw the irony in that.
