Thank you, Portugal, for finally importing black beans to your section in the grocery store “Le Monde” aisle. I have been searching all things French for a black bean supplier, to no avail. I had my husband import 5 pounds of black beans from California in his suitcase, which for you international travelers, you know how treasured 5 pounds is in an airline allowance. But now the black beans are here, thanks to Portugal. I bought all the store had, 20 cans, because Portugal might not send black beans again, and frankly, the French might not know they exist. Please don’t tell.
